Servings:4
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Ingredients:
FOR THE CREAM CHEESE DANISHES
1 ounce (2 tablespoons) cream cheese, at room temperature
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons lemon curd
1 large egg yolk
1 tablespoon water
FOR THE CHERRY DANISHES
½ sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
2 tablespoons cherry preserves
1 teaspoon coarse sanding sugar
Directions:
To prep the cream cheese Danishes:
In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla. Cut the puff pastry sheet into 2 squares.
Cut a ½-inch-wide strip from each side of the pastry. Brush the edges of the pastry square with water, then layer the strips along the edges, pressing gently to adhere and form a border around the outside of the pastry.
Divide the cream cheese mixture between the two pastries, then top each with 1 tablespoon of lemon curd. In a second small bowl, whisk together the egg yolk and water (this will be used for the cherry Danishes, too).
Brush the exposed edges of the pastry with half the egg wash. To prep the cherry Danishes: Cut the puff pastry sheet into 2 squares. Cut a ½-inch-wide strip from each side of the pastry.
Brush the edges of the pastry square with water, then layer the strips along the edges, pressing gently to adhere and form a border around the outside of the pastry. Spoon 1 tablespoon of cherry preserves into the center of each pastry.
Brush the exposed edges of the pastry with the remaining egg wash, then sprinkle with the sanding sugar. To cook both Danishes: Install a crisper plate in each of the two baskets.
Place the cream cheese Danishes in the Zone 1 basket and insert the basket in the unit. Place the cherry Danishes in the Zone 2 basket and insert the basket in the unit. Select Zone 1, select AIR FRY, set the temperature to 330°F, and set the time to 15 minutes.
Select MATCH COOK to match Zone 2 settings to Zone 1. Press START/PAUSE to begin cooking. When cooking is complete, transfer the Danishes to a wire rack to cool. Serve warm.
